We went for a mixture of low key and high key lighting this time around.

To create these images we used… Octo softboxes to light hair and skin, snoots for backlight, coloured gels to adjust colour balance, 2 large bounces (black side) to block out flash boucing of walls.

Good street photography is a skill. The aim of the workshop is to master the basic techniques and camera functions needed for photographing in the streets, to understand composition and light and to gain the confidence to create photographs in the chaos and bustle of street life.

The Workshop is for photographers who have a good working knowledge of their camera and who have a desire to learn the history and techniques of street photography. For the purposes of the workshop, the photographer should have a digital SLR or rangefinder camera with normal and wide angle lenses.

The workshop will leave a photographer with the confidence to tackle photography in the streets, the essential technical skills needed and wider understanding of the history and philosophy of street photography.

As well as being a photographer, Antonio is also a columnist for the Guardian.
To get an overview of Antonio’s approach, it’s worth reading he’s most recent Guardian piece about street photography.

3:30pm – 5:00pm Antonio will review the images you take back at  Lighthouse conference room
5:00pm Finish (and maybe a beer).

After keenly blasting their new album at the studio for the past couple of months, we wanted to get a portrait of Conner.

Once arrangements were made, we trotted on down to TOM during the sunny afternoon and got our shot. With a little extra time available after the photos, we had just enough time to have Conner perform an acoustic version of “My Lighthouse” from “Awaylands” for us (Watch below).

Overall, a lovely way to spend the day before going to watch more at the gig in the evening.
